Cold Logic continues its growth plan for 2020

8 Jan 2015 - 3:25pm

ADELAIDE industrial refrigeration services firm Cold Logic is aiming to achieve annual turnover of $25 million by 2020.

In its 30th year of operation, Cold Logic had grown from a business with two panel vans to a company which had constructed 280,000sq m of cold storage facilities.

Founded by Jeff Cannan, David Lane & Carlo Vereyken, the business was started to provide industrial refrigeration services to the beverage, food processing and cold storage industries nationwide.

It was a manufacturer, supplier, contractor and service provider of industrial refrigeration solutions. All refrigeration equipment was manufactured at its Port Adelaide headquarters.

Sales and marketing director Eddie Lane said Cold Logic had developed a strategy for growth over the next five years and aimed to hit annual turnover of $25 million by 2020.

“Currently, 60 per cent of our clients are South Australian based, while 40 per cent of our clients are interstate,” he said.

“Cold Logic is keen to continue its expansion plans through the eastern seaboard.”

He said at a time when local manufacturing was stalling, Cold Logic offered meaningful employment to its 47 staff.

Its client list included Coopers Brewery, Thomas Foods International and Arnotts.

“Cold Logic is at the forefront of refrigeration technology and is driving solutions to a rapidly changing refrigeration landscape,” Mr Lane said.

In 2012, the company installed Australia’s first ammonia heat pump energy recovery plant at Thomas Food International’s Lobethal site.

“Using waste heat from the ammonia refrigeration plant and converting the energy into usable hot water can provide significant operational savings and environmental benefits,” added Mr Lane.

“We want to position ourselves as energy efficient leaders in a cost efficient way.”

In its 30 year history, Cold Logic had chilled 2.8 million tonnes of red meat and 1.4 billion litres of beer. It had also refrigerated 7.9 billion bottles of wine.
